1. Tell me about yourself
Thank you, Chairperson and honorable members of the panel, for this opportunity to introduce myself.
My name is Daud Makoba Mhuli. I hold a degree from the University of Dar es Salaam, For years, I have worked as a teacher and content creator.
Through this work, I have sharpened two critical skills that are vital for a TAKUKURU officer: deep analytical investigation and the ability to educate communities.
I am here today because my personal values align directly with TAKUKURU’s three pillars of Prevention, Public Awareness, and Investigation.
I believe my unique blend of analytical discipline and public engagement experience makes me highly capable of protecting our nation's public resources and contributing to a corruption free Tanzania.
Thank you.
2. Why do you want to work with TAKUKURU?
I am drawn to TAKUKURU because of its strategic, three-pronged approach: Prevention, Public Education, and Enforcement. My professional background aligns perfectly with these pillars.
I have spent years developing educational content, managing digital information platforms, and analyzing complex materials to make them transparent and accessible to the community.
I do not just want a job; I want to apply my skills in analytical research, public engagement, and structural organization to a mission that matters to every Tanzanian.
Joining TAKUKURU allows me to channel my dedication to transparency and rule-following into tangible work that secures public trust and contributes directly to a fairer, more prosperous.
3. How did you hear about the position?
I learned about this position through the official Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) portal commonly known as Utumishi where the vacancy was formally advertised.
Because I am deeply committed to transitioning my skills in analysis, public education, and research into public service, I regularly follow official government job postings.
When I saw the advertisement for TAKUKURU, I immediately reviewed the specific duties and requirements. Recognizing that the requirement aligned perfectly with my professional capabilities.
4. What do you know about our organization?
I know that TAKUKURU, the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau, known internationally as PCCB, is a specialized law enforcement body established under Section 5 of the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Act (PCCA) No. 11 of 2007.
It operates as an independent public institution under the President's Office, dedicated to eliminating corruption in Tanzania.
From my study of the institution, TAKUKURU's work is structurally anchored on a three-pronged strategy, which matches Section 7 of the Act:
Prevention (Kuzuia Rushwa)
Public Awareness and Education (Elimu kwa Umma)
Investigation and Prosecution (Uchunguzi na Mashtaka):
Administratively, the bureau is headquartered in Dodoma and has a strong presence across all regions and districts of mainland Tanzania.
It is led by the Director General, Mr. Crispin Francis Chalamila, who was appointed by the President.
Ultimately, I view TAKUKURU not just as an enforcement agency, but as a critical driver of our national development, ensuring that public resources are protected for the benefit of all citizens.
5. How many tennis balls can you fit into a limousine?
I would first clarify a few assumptions. For example, are we talking about a standard stretch limousine and standard tennis balls? Then I would estimate the interior dimensions of the limousine.
Suppose the usable interior is about 5 m long, 1.5 m wide, and 1.2 m high, giving roughly 9 cubic meters (9,000 liters).
A tennis ball has a diameter of about 6.7 cm, giving it a volume of approximately 157 cubic centimeters (0.157 liters).
Since spheres don't pack perfectly, I'd use a packing efficiency of about 74%. Therefore, the estimated number of tennis balls would be…
So my estimate would be around 40,000–45,000 tennis balls, depending on the exact size of the limousine and whether the seats are removed.
